High Alert in Malaysia due to ASEAN Summit

Filed under: News & Media — sarabjeet @ 4:42 am

Motorists in the Malaysian capital Kuala Lumpur have been advised not to enter the city centre for three days as the ASEAN Summit begins on Monday, and people of this bustling city have been politely asked not to visit the hotels where the heads of state and delegations are staying.
Malaysia has kicked in their highest level of security alert. It’s not everyday that the heads of government of 16 countries, including that of Russia, spend three nights in their country!
The ten participating countries are Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam and Malasia. The seven other nations joining the summit meet are Australia, China, India, Japan, South Korea, New Zealand and Russia.
