James Otis who claims ownership of Mahatma Gandhi’s personal items has appointed a new attorney to represent him.
Otis now wants the five items back which industrialist and liquor baron Vijay Mallya had purchased for USD 1.8 million in the auction and has been in contact with Antiquorum Auctioneers.
US collector James Otis has offered to donate a few more of Mahatma Gandhi’s belongings to India provided New Delhi agrees to his

Several personal items that once belonged to Mohandas Gandhi, the Indian independence leader,have been sold at a New York City auction for $1.8m.The items were reportedly bought by VJ Mallya, a wealthy Indian businessman who reportedly plans to donate the items to the Indian government, his bidder told Reuters.
