Sixth of October for Development and Investment Company (SODIC) signed a contract for the acquisition of Al Yusr for Projects and Agricultural Development (Al Yusr).
Nakheel to test monorail
Dubai-based developer Nakheel has announced that tests on the Palm Jumeirah monorail will begin testing this October. The Palm Monorail is the first monorail project to be constructed in the Middle East. Nakheel has laid 100% of the 5.45km track, and the monorail vehicles are undergoing final inspection in Japan before arriving in Dubai for joint inspections with the RTA and operators SMRTE.
Delta offers cut rate Kuwait-US fare
Delta Airlines has offered an introductory return fare of KWD309 on direct flights between Kuwait City and Atlanta. The offer applies to tickets purchased before August 22, 2008 for travel between November 8 and December 11, 2008. Delta will operate four weekly services between Kuwait and the US.
Iraq July oil exports fall
Iraq's July oil export of 1.89m bpd is down slightly on June figures of 1.93m bpd and the May post-invasion high mark of 2.11m bpd. Analysts blame the dip on infrastructural and power generation issues.
