Chinese Garlic is cheaper now

Indian garlic is facing stiff competition from its Chinese counterpart in the Pakistani vegetable market. Whereas the Indian garlic is reportedly available at Rs 54 per kg, the Chinese one is fetching a price of Rs 48-50 per kg only.

While the Indian garlic had hit the neighbouring country’s market in mid-October, as part of the Pakistan government’s bid to stabilize prices through imports from India, the Chinese garlic is comparatively a new phenomenon.
