India on friday defeated Sri Lanka by eight wickets in the second one-day international match to take 2-0 lead in the seven-match series.

Irfan Pathan, was declared as the Man of the Match. He sent four Sri Lankan players to pavilion for 37 runs.

Chasing a target of 122 runs, India made 126 for 2 in just 20.2 overs. Openers Virender Sehwag and Sachin Tendulkar started on a blistering note, Tendulkar hitting seven boundaries and Sehwag contributing five hits to the fence from the other end.

But Sehwag departed at 38. Sachin Tendulkar scored 66 off 67 deliveries, with 11 boundaries to his credit.
