Microsoft announced Online Versions of Windows

Microsoft Corporation has announced online versions of its Windows operating system and other popular software programmes. New Web site is called as “Windows Live” .

This will reflects recognition of the growing demand for applications and services of the Microsoft that can be used from any place, at any time.

Microsoft will have both free and paid offerings on Windows Live and Office Live, where basic services will be advertising-supported. The company will enable the customers to purchase subscriptions for more advanced services.

Windows Live provides a variety of Web services like e-mail, instant messaging, and a new set of Internet-based software called gadgets. These are small Internet-based applications that provide mail, stock quotes, weather forecast and other simple functions.
